The Silverback // Mountain Gorillas of Rwanda

Visiting the beautiful mountain gorillas of Rwanda was an experience of a lifetime. Being able to capture some portraits was a real priviledge. These gentle giants inhabit the volcanic mountains that run through Rwanda, Uganda, and the DRC. While their numbers have plumeted due to poaching aross the nations and the conflicts in the DRC, they have made a surprising comeback in the last decade due to Rwandan conservation efforts.
